The story takes place in the late 1960s in the East End of London; BRONCO BULLFROG is the story of a young couple who decide to run away when their parents disagree with their growing love for each other. They decided to hide with Joe, the Wild Horse Bullfrog, who hid after escaping Borstal. However, all three realized that the law would soon catch up with them. Wild Horse Bullfrog is the first movie that Mike Lee should have made. This movie was set in the East End of London and filmed for six weeks in Stratford and its surrounding areas. Most of this film was improvised by young actors from Joan Littlewood Studios, thus giving it a authenticity that most other local works lack (see Quadrophenia).
