Pre marital photography has become an important national ritual. They are proof of marriage, but now they are also proof of love, romance, freedom, status, money, and the New China Dream. As a foreigner who has been living in Shanghai for a long time, pro China photographer Olivia Mar tin McGuire is attracted by the construction of dreams in this thriving photography world. Once she delved deeper into this new tradition, she discovered a unique window into understanding China. One reveals a dream country, a rapidly prosperous country, and a country that reconstructs its recent past traumas through its own lens.
