The play tells the story of a young couple, Kathy (played by Carol White) and Reg (played by Ray Brooks). At first, their relationship developed smoothly, they had a child and moved into a modern home. When Reg is injured and loses a high-paying job, they will be expelled by the bailiff. They face poverty and unemployment, squatting illegally in empty houses and living in shelters. Finally, Cathy's child was taken away by a social service agency.
