It tells the story of a person who begins to overcome their fear of exercise, especially those who pursue it. Niko von Glasow, the only short arm director in Germany, travels the world to meet athletes preparing for the 2012 Paralympics: Aida Husic Dahlen, a Norwegian single arm table tennis player; Boccia champion Greg Polychronidis from Greece has paralysis below the neck; Short armed archer Matt Stutzman from the United States; Christian Ripe, a single legged swimmer from Germany, and the seated volleyball team from Rwanda. This eager to learn director optimistically and self critically examined what pushed these athletes to their physical and mental limits, and discovered how sports gave them the courage to face life. Their testimony is so convincing that every time they encounter it, the director's own aversion to any sports activity begins to weaken. After his films "The Unknown" and "All Wild Gut," Mein Weg nach Olympia completed Niko von Glasow's trilogy on the lives and feelings of people with disabilities. This movie is impressive, sometimes in slow motion, documenting the physical and mental abilities as well as extreme focus of these athletes.
