The story of Parker's new work, written by William "Billy" Avery, is inspired by real events and takes place in the summer of 2014. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Normandy landings in France, the octogenarian Bernard Jordan (played by Michael Kane) made global headlines. He staged a "great escape" from the sanatorium, with his comrades on the beach in Normandy, commemorating their deceased comrades. This bittersweet script is said to be about exploring reality with wisdom and a broad heart. Bernie's adventure lasted only 48 hours, marking the climax of his 60 year marriage to Irene (played by Glenda Jackson). This movie will also celebrate that their love has no sadness and focuses on the lessons we can all learn from the greatest generation.
